Description	:	Nathan was the son of John and Betty Dow Chase. He married Anna Gove Feb 18, 1830 in Henniker, NH. They lived in Weare, NH for about 20 years and all of their children were born there. They moved to Springwater, Iowa in 1853 to be close to the Friends settlement. Nathan was a life long member of the Friends church. Next they moved to Clay County, Iowa in 1869. Nathan was a farmer. Nathan and Anna were the parents of Mary, Lindley, Moses, Josiah, John, Caroline, Charles, and Lydia Maria Chase. Nathan was the postmaster at Annieville, which was named after his wife. Nathan was buried near Annieville but his remains were moved to Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. There is no stone marker. He is buried near his son John Chase.
