Description	:	KEARNEY — Neil Yendra, 87, of Kearney died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with the Rev. Steve Shanno officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery near Gibbon. He was born May 17, 1926, in Gibbon to John and Ethel (Cline) Yendra. On Jan. 16, 1947, he married Mary R. Muchmore in Norton, Kan. Survivors include his wife; sons, Patrick Yendra of Kearney and Carl Yendra and his wife, Dianne, of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandsons, Michael Yendra of Holdrege and Zachary Yendra of Fort Collins, Colo.; granddaughters, Melissa Minard of Cabot, Ark., and Whitney Yendra of Fort Collins; and brothers, Laverne Yendra and his wife, Virginia, of Gibbon and Darrell Yendra and his wife, Beverly, of Kearney. He received his education in rural schools near Gibbon. Neil and Mary farmed for 32 years northwest of Gibbon. After retiring from farming, Neil worked in the maintenance department at St. John's Center in Kearney for nine years until he retired in 1989. Neil enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping. He and Mary also enjoyed attending craft shows in Ravenna, Minden and Gibbon and later organized semi-annual craft shows at their home. He was preceded in death by his parents.
