Description	:	Nell Gilbert, 93, Dies At Hospital; Funeral Nov. 29 Mrs. Nell Gilbert, widow of late Dr. John Gilbert, died Sunday, Nov. 26 at the age of 93 in the Garfield County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for 2½ years. Services were held Wednesday from the Richardson Funeral Home with the Rev. Spaulding Howe Jr. of the Episcopal church officiating. Interment was in the Pomeroy Cemetery. Read More	Nell Gilbert, 93, Dies At Hospital; Funeral Nov. 29 Mrs. Nell Gilbert, widow of late Dr. John Gilbert, died Sunday, Nov. 26 at the age of 93 in the Garfield County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for 2½ years. Services were held Wednesday from the Richardson Funeral Home with the Rev. Spaulding Howe Jr. of the Episcopal church officiating. Interment was in the Pomeroy Cemetery. Mrs. Gilbert was born April 15, 1784 at Golden, Colorado, the daughter of Alexander and Rose Barron. She came to Pomeroy in 1908 as manager of the telephone company. The telephone was across the hall from the office of Dr. Gilbert who had started a practice here in 1904. After a courtship of eight months, they were married in Pomeroy on Nov. 26, 1908. Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert used to make many calls together, and after his retirement in 1938 they enjoyed a quiet home life. Both liked bridge, pinochle and cribbage, and also reading. The Gilberts had hundred of friends and their home always had lots of visitors. The well loved country doctor of the old school died Sept. 9, 1955 at the age of 88. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by a sister, May V. Eggleston, Riverside, Calif.; two nephews, Everett Eggleston, Springfield, Ore., and Eldon Barron, Klamath Falls, Ore.; three nieces, Eleanor Steward, Riverside, Calif., Nellie Roach, Chico, Calif., and Juanita Martell Valley Springs, Calif. Pall bearers were Floyd Kausche, John McKiernan, John Cardwell, Pat McCabe, Tom Bunch and James Weimer. _________________ Prominent Pomeroy Woman Succumbs POMEROY - Mrs. Nell Gilert, 93, died at 4 a.m. in the Garfield County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since January, 1966. She was born April 15, 1874 to Alexander and Rose Barron. She came to Pomeroy in 1908 as manager of the Pomeroy Telephone Co. She married Dr. John Gilbert, Nov. 26, 1908 at Pomeroy. He practices as physician and surgeon for 34 years at Pomeroy and died here in 1955. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and Guild of Pomeroy. Surviving are a nephew, Everett Eggleston, Springfield, Ore., and two nieces.
