She was operated upon several days ago and appeared to be recovering rapidly when a sudden turn was taken for the worse. She leaves a husband and two children, the latter being with Mrs. Susan Davis. She taught school at Coon Rapids several years. Her home of late years has been at Landers, Wyoming. Mrs. Susan Davis and daughter and Edward Zavitz departed for Omaha immediately on receipt of word of Mrs. Ballinger's serious condition but did not arrive until an hour or two after Mrs. Ballinger's death. It is not known as we go to press whether the funeral will be held at Coon Rapids or her home in Wyoming. Coon Rapids Enterprise July 23, 1926 Page 1 Nellie Davis, daughter of William and Susan Davis, was born in Carroll county, Iowa, October 5th, 1881, and passed away July 13, 1926. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Coon Rapids and graduated from the Coon Rapids schools. She chose teaching as her vocation and was a successful teacher in the country schools of the county as well as in the schools of Coon Rapids where she taught for several years also in the schools of Wyoming. Her cheerful disposition won her many friends, both in the school room and out of it. She was united in marriage to Dudley Ballinger at Kimball, Nebraska, in 1916. They have made their home in the west, during all of their married life. They resided in Denver, Colorado, for a while before moving, to Lander, Wyoming, the present home. To this union two children were born: David, aged seven, and Virginia, aged four. Mrs. Ballinger was converted and united with the Methodist church in early girlhood, and was a faithful member until the end. She was of cheerful, loving disposition, always ready to speak a word of cheer or lend a helping hand. She was a loving mother, friend, and a splendid wife and will be missed sadly in the home as well by her immediate relatives and a large circle of friends. The sorrow and grief caused by her absence is increased, owing to the fact that, the end as viewed from human sight, came too soon, her departure gives striking suggestion to the forceful words, "That in the midst of life we are in death." There is but one consolation in it all and that is, that death is not an end in itself, but it is a place where the streams of life are merged into the ocean of Eternity,' it is but the turning point of the endless path of existence.
