Krenmyre of Coon Rapids. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery. Susan Laura Allison was born in Virginia June 6, 1846. When still a small child she came with her parents, to Grand Mound, Iowa, where she lived until 1875 when she came to Carroll county to visit relatives and met and married William Davis. Children born to this marriage were David, who lived with his mother and cared for her until her death; Nell, Mrs. Dudley Ballinger, who died 12 years ago; and Mrs. Ed Zavitz of Coon Rapids. Deceased is also survived by a brother, George Davis, of Grand Mound, by six grandchildren, Virginia Ballinger of Lander, Wyo., David Ballinger of Coon Rapids, Morris Zavitz in the U.S. Navy, Dana, Max and Margaret Zavitz of Coon Rapids and by many other relatives in this community and a host of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Davis owned a farm in the Oak Hill community northwest of Coon Rapids where Mr. Davis died in 1884. In 1893 Mrs. Davis moved her family to Coon Rapids and bought the property where she lived the remainder of her life. In later years failing health kept Mrs. Davis at home but when able she was regular in church attendance and liked to visit with friends. Her passing removes one of the oldest pioneers of the Coon Rapids community.
