NELLIE BLANCHE (SELIX) KING was born at Unionville, Iowa May 5, 1889. Died at Ottumwa Hospital May 4, 1917 at 28 years of age. She was the wife of Ross King. Her mother preceded her in death when she was 7 years old. The family was reared by an older sister and her grandparents. Besides her husband, she leaves 2 small children, Wilma 7 and Claudine 9, her father, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, a nephew whom she raised from infancy and her grandparents. She was ready at anytime to help those in need. She was converted when a small child and at the time of her death was a faithful member of the Baptist Church at Bunch, Iowa. * * * * * * * * * * * * * Mrs. Nellie B. King Published by the Ottumwa Courier Friday May 4, 1917 Mrs. Nellie Blanch King, wife of Ross King, 102 South Schuyler Street, died at the Ottumwa Hospital at 7:30 o'clock this morning. She was 27 years old and is survived by her husband and two children Wilma aged 7 and Claudine, aged 9 years. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the home of her father William Selix, 231 North Davis Street. Rev. W.E. Prewitt of the Finley Avenue Baptist Church will be in charge and interment will follow in Shaul Cemetery.
