Selix, 83 died at his home, 231 North Davis Street, Monday at 11:55 p.m. Mr. Selix had lived in Wapello county practically all his life and in Ottumwa for the last 42 years. He was the son of Joseph and Eliza Selix and was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, February 7, 1857. He was a member of the Pentecostal church. Surviving are a son, Joe A. Selix of Ottumwa; daughters, Mrs. Elsie Cox of Ottumwa and Mrs. Leslie Crow of Unionville; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four step-daughters, Mrs. Clara Wright, Mrs. Maude Frost and Mrs. Florence Ross of Ottumwa and Mrs. Hilda Barrier of San Bernita, Texas; stepsons, Leonard, Arthur and Edwin Anderson of Ottumwa; sisters, Mrs. Mary Goodwin of Unionville, his twin; Mrs. Melissa Crawley of Newton and Mrs. Nannie Hunt of Ottumwa; brothers, Jim Selix of Blakesburg and John and Tom Selix of Unionville. Services will be held in the Pentecostal church Thursday at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel cemetery. The body will remain at Johnson's funeral chapel until Wednesday at 5 p.m. when it will be taken to the home.
