Description	:	------------------------- Nellie Cora Beckmann, daughter of Charles and Mary (McDonald) Lukens, was born July 20, 1935 at Naper, Nebraska. She attended school at Naper, Lindy and Bloomfield. She was married to Alfred Beckmann on November 2, 1952 at Bazile Mills. Two children were born to them, Audrey and David. She lived on a farm west of Center her entire married life until moving to Creighton in January 1999. She was a substitute cook and bus driver for the Center School. She attended school at Naper, Lindy and Bloomfield. She was married to Alfred Beckmann on November 2, 1952 at Bazile Mills. Two children were born to them, Audrey and David. She lived on a farm west of Center her entire married life until moving to Creighton in January 1999. She was a substitute cook and bus driver for the Center School. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Western Swingers Square Dance Club of Verdigre. She served as treasurer on the Center School Board and as secretary of Northeast Nebraska Square & Round Dance Association. Nellie was well known for her excellent cooking. She enjoyed square dancing, shopping and visiting with family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother and treasured her grandsons. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Nellie died February 17, 2001 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of sixty-five. Survivors include her husband, Alfred; daughter and her husband, Audrey and Terry Carlow of Bloomfield; son, David of Creighton; two grandsons; six sisters, Phyllis Butler of Emerson, Viva Langmack of Emerson, Dorothy Groves of Hubbard, Evelyn Beckmann of Bloomfield, Edna Thurston of Omaha and Elaine Jensen of Carroll; seven brothers, Donald of Crook, CO, Lyle of Sioux City, IA, Virlyn of Emerson, Leland of Omaha, Lee of Crofton, Loran of Bloomfield and Dennis Paonia, CO; sisters-in-law, Elda Opkis and Cora Klutman , both of Creighton and many nephews and nieces.
