She passed away on May 16, 1979, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 29 days. She was married to Harry Campbell of Tecumseh, Neb., on February 3, 1908, at Sioux City, Ia. Almost all of her life was spent in the Geneva community. Her mother died when Nellie was a small girl, and she was raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Shreffler. She was married to Harry Campbell of Tecumseh, Neb., on February 3, 1908, at Sioux City, Ia. Almost all of her life was spent in the Geneva community. Her mother died when Nellie was a small girl, and she was raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Shreffler. Nellie was a former member of the Nature Study department of the Geneva Woman’s club, and enjoyed entertaining the members in her home and in planning interesting and unusual programs for the group in years past. Nellie and her husband Harry were privileged to observe their 71st wedding anniversary last February with their family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, Creston. She is survived by her husband, Harry Campbell, of Heritage; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Stoldorf, of Geneva; a half-sister, Mrs. Bernice Gharring of Nampa, Idaho; a half-brother, Lloyd Shreffler of Star, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews and friends. The last three years have been spent at Heritage. Nellie’s interest all her life was in her home and garden. She took great pleasure in the many beautiful plantings of flowers, trees, shrubs, rock garden and always enjoyed working in her lovely yard. She was a lover of nature and made the yard a sanctuary for birds. No doubt many people will recall visiting Mrs. Campbell in her home and seeing the attractive lily pool, beautifully landscaped yard, and assorted bird houses. She enjoyed sharing the beauties of her yard with friends who came. Memorial services were held at the Farmer & Son funeral home on Saturday, May 19, 1979, with Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Organ music was played during the service. Casket bearers were Gayle Boyd, Merwin Boyd, Dean Stoldorf, Jim Murray, Richard Poch and Francis Walker. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
