Description	:	Services were held Monday, Dec. 22 at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox for Nellie Tullar who died on Dec. 18. Officiating during the service was the Rev. Hugh Brewer. Pallbearers included Nellie's grandchildren: Ed Tullar, Kevin Tullar, Les Tullar, Dan Gondreau, Kris Smykle, Brian Moller, Dennis Poppenga, Jeff Moeller, and Ed Seiders. Nellie Frances Eichmeier was born July 6, 1917 at Tea, SD the daughter of William F. and Frankie M. (Parke) Eichmeier. Her first six years were spent at the home of her oldest sister in Minor County, SD. She moved back to her father's farm and attended Bubultz School, near Tea. Nellie spent her early years as a homemaker for her father and older brother. On June 29, 1941 she was united in marriage to Leslie E. Tullar at Hastings, NE. Following their marriage they farmed in the area, moving to Sioux Falls for a few years and then to the Tullar farm north of Lennox and into Lennox in 1963. Leslie passed away in August of 1989. Nellie was employed at the Hoelscher Creamery for many years. She was a cook for the O'Gorman Seminary in Sioux Falls, the Lennox School District, the Oriole Cage Café, The Lennox Lanes Bowling Alley, and the Lennox Golf Course. She retired from the Lennox Library in 1996 and moved to Walson Apartments before entering the Lennox Good Samaritan Center in October of 1999. Nellie attended First English Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and on the Altar Society. She spent many hours working with quilting projects. She was a 4-H leader in Lincoln County and a charter member of the Lennox Historical Society and took and active part in the Lennox Museum. She was also a member of the Lennox Petal Pals, Master Gardeners, Lennox American Legion Auxiliary, RSVP and Senior Citizens. She was a regular exhibitor in the Sioux Empire Flower Show and other area floral shows. She was a Legion Auxiliary Poppy Poster judge and spent summers caring for the floral and rock landscaping in the Lennox City Park. She was also named Co-Grand Marshall in the Homecoming Parade and was crowned Good Samaritan Royalty Queen. Her grandchildren enjoyed the special times of dying Easter eggs, gardening, visiting Dennis the Menace Park and making recordings on the cassette tape recorder. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Harvey and Clifford (Slitz) Eichmeier; four sisters: Stella Hart, Elsie Wing, Myrtle Slack, and Sadie Eichmeier; and one daughter, Faith, in infancy. She is survived by four children: Frank (Marlene) Tullar, Orange City, IA, Floyd Tullar, Hartford, SD, Fran Tullar, Sioux Falls, and Faye (Craig) Seiders, Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren: Dennis Poppinga, Jeff Moeller, Leslie Tullar, Tammy (Dan) Gondreau, Ed (Jennifer) Tullar, Laura (Kris) Smykle and Kevin (Beth) Tullar; 14 great-grandchildren: Jerry and Dakota Moeller, Cohen Tullar, Kaitlin and Mikaila Gondreau, Emilee, Carlee and Katie Tullar, Parker, Elizabeth and Ayden Smykle, Trevor, Connor and Kaylin Tullar; one great-great grandson: Blayke Moeller; seven step-grandchidlren: Daryl, Brian, Diane, Tim, Ed, Darla, and Kelly; ten step great-granchildren: Gary, Destiny, Tina, Corey, Dillion, Khloe, Leah, Natasha, Kamisha, Kobe and several special nieces and nephews.
