A graveside service will be held Monday 2:00 PM, December 23, 2013 at Round Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:30 until 8:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mrs. Roope was born February 21, 1917 in Wilkes County to John Isaac and Mary Ellen Johnson Billings. She is survived by: one daughter, Virginia Neenan and husband, Charles of Herndon, VA; one son, Fred A. Roope of North Wilkesboro; one step-son, Clyde Roope and wife, Charleen of King, NC; one step-daughter, Vena Prevette of Hays; one sister, Norma Eller of North Wilkesboro; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
