A native of Spartanburg County; daughter of Lawrence Wynn Bishop (1890 - 1956) and Edna Lou Bishop (1893 - 1961); husband of John H. Camp. Attended Roebuck High School; was a graduate of the Mary Black Hospital Nurses' School, and had been a nurse at the Conway Hospital for eight years prior to her illness.
