Snipes and Jennie Masters Snipes on February 18, 1907, at Collbran, Co., and passed away on September 20, 1989, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 2 days. She was one of three children in the family. She attended school in Collbran and on December 22, 1924, was married to Clifford E. Moul, who was working on YT Ranch, close to Collbran. To this union three sons were born, Kenneth E. Romy B. and Louis L. In 1932, the family moved to Fairmont, where they farmed and Clifford ran a trucking business. In 1948, they were bought out by their son, Louis. During this same time, Nellie had attended Beauty School in Lincoln. In June of 1951, she opened a beauty shop in Fairmont. Some of those employees who worked for her were Audrey Hall, Delores Roper and Lois Richey. Clifford passed away in 1966 and Nellie continued living in Fairmont, while operating her beauty shop. On October 15, 1969, she was married to Erwin Molthan and the couple moved to Grafton. From 1970 until 1977, Nellie operated a beauty shop in Grafton and in 1977 she and Erwin retired. They moved to Fairmont in 1985, and had resided at the four-plex on Main Street for several years. At the time of her death, they were residents at the Fairview Manor. Nellie had a great love for her family. She especially prized the visits by her grandchildren. She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star; a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary; a member of the Fairmont Community Church; a member of the Fillmore County Historical Society, and a member of the Fillmore County Hospital Auxiliary. In previous years, she was very active in these organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; a brother, George Snipes; and a sister, Bessie Glotfelty of Collbran, Co. She is survived by her husband, Erwin Molthan of Fairmont; sons, Kenneth and wife, Betty, and Romy and wife, Bonnie, both of Hastings, and Louis of Fairmont; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Funeral services were conducted from the Fairmont Community Church in Fairmont on Saturday, September 23, with the Rev. Norman Kauble officiating. Nancy Jo Galusha accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Federal Bridgman, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Love Lifted Me." Those serving as pallbearers were Michael Aringdale, Melvin Ackerman, Dale Moul, Michael Moul, Brad Ryan and James Murray. Interment was in the Fairmont Public Cemetery.
