Description	:	Mrs. Nellie Mabe Hampton, 95, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, October 25, 2015, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Stokes. Mrs. Hampton was born on October 18, 1920, in Stokes County, to Richard Pearson, and Rosa Taylor Mabe. Mrs. Hampton was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a dedicated employee of Hanes Hosiery Mill for 35 years. For many years she faithfully attended Walnut Cove Primitive Baptist Church. Read More	Mrs. Nellie Mabe Hampton, 95, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, October 25, 2015, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Stokes. Mrs. Hampton was born on October 18, 1920, in Stokes County, to Richard Pearson, and Rosa Taylor Mabe. Mrs. Hampton was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a dedicated employee of Hanes Hosiery Mill for 35 years. For many years she faithfully attended Walnut Cove Primitive Baptist Church. A 3:30 p.m. graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Palmyra United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jon White officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Preston A. Hampton, three brothers; Rob, Elma(Doris), and Dewey Mabe, and brother-in-law; Everett Everhart. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Hampton Knight and husband John of Germanton; granddaughter, Deborah Knight Mabe and husband Ben of Germanton, 2 great grandchildren; Brittany (Drew) Tucker and Patrick Mabe, great-great grandson; Aaron Tucker, sister; Thelma Mabe Everhart, two sisters-in-law; Betty Mabe and Olene Mabe, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Burroughs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, make memorials to Mountain Valley Hospice, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC, 27041. Mrs. Hampton's family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and the staff of Pioneer Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Nellie over the past few years.
