Rash, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Swainey of Lucas county, Iowa, was born April 5, 1881, and departed this life December 9, 1910, at the age of 29 years, 8 months and 4 days. Deceased was born in Washington township, Wayne county, Iowa, and early in life moved into Warren township, Lucas county, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was converted when she was thirteen years old and united with the Eden Baptist church, of which she remained a consistent member until the Master called her from the church militant to the church triumphant. The bright hope that she obtained through faith in Jesus Christ, nourished by faithful obedience until His coming was magnified in death. The patience endured during her long journey of affliction with Bright's disease furnishes the bereaved ones great comfort. Her last moments were attended with that pathetic sweetness of grace that enabled her to say to her father that the Lord was calling her home. After bidding them all goodbye, she said "Meet me there," and quietly passed over the river whence no traveler ever returns. The deceased was united in marriage to John L. Rash March 5, 1899. One daughter was born to bless this union, who is left to comfort the father and husband through the journey of life. The funeral services were conducted from the Eden church by Rev. M. S. Clark, in the presence of a large circle of sympathizing friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Murray cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the community.
