She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith there. She moved to Story County, Ia. in 1901 with her parents. At that time she joined the Palestine Lutheran Church. Read More	Obituary Nevada Journal, November 3, 1968, Page 1 Nellie Elliott was born Feb. 11, 1885 in Gardner, Ill., to Knudt and Olena Ryan. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith there. She moved to Story County, Ia. in 1901 with her parents. At that time she joined the Palestine Lutheran Church. On May 31, 1904 she was united in marriage to Roy Elliott. To this union one son, Orval, was born. Nellie was always interested in music and used her talent in singing in church choirs and small vocal groups. She was active in these as long as her health permitted. She passed away at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines from a heart attack on Nov. 2, 1969. She is survived by her son, Orval, of Huxley; one granddaughter, Barbara Elliott; one brother, Ole Ryan of Slater; nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Elliott; her parents; three brothers and sisters who died in infancy, one sister, Anna; four brothers, Charley, Ed, Knute, Erick; and a half-brother, Tom.
