Description	:	Nellie Davelaar, 82, of Sioux Center, died Sunday, August 25, at Fellowship Village in Inwood. Services were held Wednesday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Robert Holwerda officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Davelaar was born July 6,1909, at Sioux Center, the daughter of William and Florida (DeStigter) Wassink. Mrs. Davelaar was born July 6,1909, at Sioux Center, the daughter of William and Florida (DeStigter) Wassink. She lived her youth in the Sioux Center area and attended Sioux Center Christian School. On Feb, 2, 1934, she married John Davelaar in Sioux Center. The couple farmed in the Sioux Center area until retiring in 1963. He died July 27, 1990. She became a resident of Fellowship Village in June 1989. Mrs. Davelaar was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, where she was involved with the Sunshine Circle. She was a member of Homemakers of Sioux Center. Survivors include five sons and their wives, Henry John and Mary of Bigelow, MN, Bill and Hertilda of Maurice, Arnold and Linda of Anacortes, WA; Floyd and Joyce of Rock Valley, and Gerrit and Eleanor of Inwood; three daughters, Carolyn Ploegstra of Denver, Florence and her husband, Orville Kooiman of Orange City and Nelvia and her husband, Dave Starkenburg, of Wyoming, MI; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie Hubers of Pantago, NG, Tena Mulder of Bellflower, CA, and Bertha Hubers of Grandville, MI; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Wassink, of Sioux Center; and one brother-in-law, Rich Rens Sr., of Sioux Center.
