Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p. m., at the Paetznick Funeral Home for Nels Martin, who passed away Thursday, April 2, at the Webster hospital, following a stroke suffered on the previous Monday. The Rev. Harvey Sanders was the officiant in the Groton cemetery. Pall bearers were: Raymond and Chester Johnson, Vernon Wilson, Clarence Wage, Albert Bahr and Marvin Harry. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Martin, born on May 25, 1897, in Sweden. When 16 years of age he came to live with a sister in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Martin became a citizen of the United States and was drafted in the army during World War I, receiving a medical discharge. Later he came to South Dakota where he was employed on a farm, and two years later engaged in farming for himself up until the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Hoops and to this union four children were born. Mr. Martin was a kind and loving husband and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and four children at home, a sister, Anna, in Chicago, besides a number of other relatives.
