For sixteen years he served on the Ottumwa police force. Surviving are his wife, Mina; four sons, Wallace, Henry, Hugh, and Nels, Jr., all of Ottumwa; one sister, Miss Jennie Nelson of Milaca, Minn.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ida Kielkoph of Ottumwa, and Lawrence Nelson of Ottumwa; one nephew, Albert Nelson of Milaca, Minn., and one great-grandson, Larry Nelson, Jr., of Ottumwa. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral chapel awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.
