Description	:	Russell Jacobsen May 18, 1925 - June 28, 2013 Russell Jacobsen, 88 of Sioux Falls, died Friday at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls. He was born May 18, 1925 on the family farm in south Hand County near Miller, Sd. He was the first child for Nels and Lysle (Hines) Jacobsen and was followed by two brothers, Lowell and Morris. Read More	Russell Jacobsen May 18, 1925 - June 28, 2013 Russell Jacobsen, 88 of Sioux Falls, died Friday at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls. He was born May 18, 1925 on the family farm in south Hand County near Miller, Sd. He was the first child for Nels and Lysle (Hines) Jacobsen and was followed by two brothers, Lowell and Morris. He attended Golden Shield rural school for 8 years and then attended and graduated from Miller High School. Russell was active in FFA and played high school football. Russell worked on the family farm until he went to serve his country during WWII by enlisting in the Army Air Corps. While he was stationed in Oklahoma, Russell met the first love of his life, Mary Beatrice Goen, and soon after, they were married. After Russell was discharged, they moved to Miller where they were involved in farming and ranching. Russell served on the school board, township board and was a 4-H Leader. He also worked part-time at Miller Livestock Auction Company, Meriwether Vet Clinic and helped a neighbor with building pole barns. In 1971,they moved to Sioux Falls. Russell worked for Jostens-Wilbert Vault Company for 26 years. After Beatrice passed away, Russell had a second chance at love when he married Aloha King and they were together until his passing. Family was the most important thing to Russell. He loved farming and his John Deere tractors. He and Beatrice raised 7 children, Bob, Dave, Tom (Kay), Ron (Deb), Cathy (Jim), Cindy (Steve), and Pam. In addition to his children, Russell is survived by his wife, Aloha; a brother, Morris; 9 grandchildren, Krisaundra, Amy, Matt, Marc, Levi, Madison, Mariah, Marissa, Lebaron and Cory; several step-grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Beatrice, a brother, Lowell and a step-daughter, Sharon Blumer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
