Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery. 1980, Wednesday April 9, The Almonte Gazette page 14 Nelson Boyd Cole Nelson Boyd Cole, RR 3 Almonte, died March 28 in The Almonte Nursing Home, at the age of 89. Born at Otter Lake, Quebec, 1891, Mr Cole came to Ontario in 1910. He was the son of the late Sam Cole and Betty Flood. In 1910, Mr Cole was married in Carleton Place to the late Lily May Stewart. He attended the United Church. Mr Cole is survived by his four sons, Nelson, Cecil, Delbert and Joe; by his five daughters, Stella, Crystel, Jessie, Rita, and Elda; and by his brother Emerson. A public funeral service was held March 28 from the Gamble & Comba Funeral Home. Church services were conducted by Reverend H. Manson at the Almonte United Church. Burial took place at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Mr Cole's grandsons acted at pallbearers: Carmon Elliott, Donnie Robittail, Dwight Puckett, Charley MacGregor, John Smith, Tom Cole.
