Read More	The Tribune Hicksville, Ohio, Thursday, September 1907 p1 col 5 Nelson Stone was born in Hermon, St. Lawrence county, N. Y., May 22, 1827, and moved to Defiance county, Ohio, in 1845. On January 1, 1848, he married Laura M. Crary, to which union were born two children, Ezra and Almeda. His wife died Feb. 6, 1857, and on Feb. 4, 1863, he was married to Rachel Ann Tharp. He died Sept. 8, 1907, aged eighty years, three months and sixteen days. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, two sisters, a son and a daughter, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. By occupation he was a miller, and he helped to grind the first flour that was shipped from Hicksville. He was also real estate assessor for Milford township in 1870 and had owned the farm on which he lived for fifty-five years. When fourteen years of age he became a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church of which he remained a member until his removal to Ohio. There was no Baptist church where he located, so he did not take church membership, though he was always a contributor. For the last twenty-three years he attended the services of the Hicksville Christian Church, from which the funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. F. C. Lake.
