MULLINS - Mrs. Neppie Terry Smith died in a local hospital Tuesday morning after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. Burial will be in Cedardale Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was a native of Mullins where she spent her entire life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and for many years taught in the Junior Department of the Sunday School. She was a member of the Ladies Bible Class where she worked in the extension department and was a member of the WMU. She was a member of Isabella D. Martin Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and composed a book of confederate historical data and which was placed in the public library of Mullins. She attended Lynnwood College in Kings Mountain. She was twice married. Her first marriage was to the late Edwin Eugene Terry of Roxboro, NC. Her second marriage was to the late J. D. Smith of Cheraw. Surviving are a son, William B. Terry of Ashboro, NC; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Edwin Terry Kelley of Thompson, GA and three grandchildren.
