Special music was given by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Williams. Nettie Emily Houston, daughter of Joseph and Mary Jane Houston, was born near Manchester, Delaware county, Iowa, Feb. 21, 1876 and passed away near Keosauqua, Iowa on Nov. 13, 1949, aged 73 years, 8 months and 23 days. Nettie Emily Houston, daughter of Joseph and Mary Jane Houston, was born near Manchester, Delaware county, Iowa, Feb. 21, 1876 and passed away near Keosauqua, Iowa on Nov. 13, 1949, aged 73 years, 8 months and 23 days. In 1882 she moved with her family to Plainview, Nebr., where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Fletcher Wells Dec. 12, 1896. Mr. and Mrs. Wells moved to Van Buren county in 1901 and have lived in the Cantril vicinity for 30 years. When a girl, she joined the Methodist church at Plainview, Neb., later transferring her membership to the Cantril Methodist church where she was a consistently faithful member until her death. She always felt a keen interest and responsibility toward the activities of her church and was disappointed each time she was unable to attend a service. Her entire church life was a pleasant experience. Mrs. Wells was a charter member of the Cantril Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was preceded in death by her husband, F. J. Wells, who passed away Dec. 21, 1943 Pallbearers were Al Harman, Reid Stewart, Clark Robison, G. L. Hustead, Harry Stabler and Paul Casady. Burial was in the Cantril cemetery.
