Description	:	She was the first born to her father and his second wife but had two half-brothers and a half-sister from her father's first marriage. (His first wife had died leaving him with 3 children to raise) Neva graduated from Chase County Cottonwood Falls, KS High School and taught school at Matfied Green, KS her first year. She then joined her family that summer in CO. where they had moved in the spring. She taught school north of Holly a year and the following fall taught 123 miles south of Holly. (His first wife had died leaving him with 3 children to raise) Neva graduated from Chase County Cottonwood Falls, KS High School and taught school at Matfied Green, KS her first year. She then joined her family that summer in CO. where they had moved in the spring. She taught school north of Holly a year and the following fall taught 123 miles south of Holly. In the summers she was employed at the Whites' Dry Goods Store in Holly. She married Charles Dill Thompson on 30 Dec 1909. Early in 1910, the Thompsons took a 320 acre homestead 22 miles south of Holly where they built a home and reared a family. A year later they moved to Holly where she served as City Treasurer and Secretary of the East Prowers County Cemetery Association. She was also city librarian, Justice of the Peace, Police Magistrate and Registrar of Vital Statistics for 25 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and she served as their financia secretary for many years. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 50; was a member of the American Legion Auxilary; a member of the Republican Committee and the Friendly Bible Class . A memorial was erected to her at the Holly cemetery in 1981. Nevada Irena Bogue Thompson was the Secretary of the East Prowers County Cemetery Association from its founding until the mid-1970s.
