The microfilmed Probate Records for Lambton County, Ontario were borrowed from the Archives of Canada and the following record was found: No 1119 = In the goods of Newman Brackett late of the Township of Euphemia in the County of Lambton, Laborer = Probate applied for by William Bilton of the Township of Euphemia farmer and Matthias Hanson of the same place farmer and Probate granted 2nd June 1887 as follows: ____________________ Probate In Her Majesty’s Surrogate Court of the County of Lambton Be it known that on the second day of June in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven the last Will and Testament of Newman Bracket late of the Township of Euphemia in the County of Lambton and Province of Ontario Laborer deceased who died on or about the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven at the Township of (Euphemia) Howard in the County of Kent and who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at the Township of Euphemia in the County of Lambton = Was proved and Registered in the said Surrogate Court a true copy of which said last Will and Testament is hereunto annexed: and that the administration of all and singular the personal estate and effects rights and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his Will was granted by the aforesaid Court to William Bilton of the Township of Euphemia in the County of Lambton farmer and Mathias Hanson of the same place farmer the Executors named in the said Will they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same by paying the just debts of the said deceased and the legacies contained in his Will so far as they are thereunto to bound by law and to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects rights and credits and to render a just and true account of their Executorship whenever required by Law as to do. W R Gensmill Registrar of the Surrogate Court County of Lambton ______________ Transcript of Will This is the Last Will and Testament of Mr. Newman Bracket of the township of Euphemia in the County of Lambton and Province of Ontario made this nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven. I Newman Brackett of the Township of Euphemia in the County of Lambton Laborer being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made. 1st I hereby constitute and appoint William Belton and Mathias Hanson both of the Township of Euphemia in the said County of Lambton farmers to be the executors of this my Will directing my said executors to pay all my just debts expend the sum of one hundred dollars in erecting a monument at my grave for me and funeral and testamentary expenses out of my estate 2nd After the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary and after expending the sum of one hundred dollars in erecting a monument as aforesaid I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my estate of whatsoever nature or kind equally share and share alike to my brothers and sisters Chester Bracket Martin Bracket Juliet O’Brien Sarah Jane Morgan and John Bracket to be paid to each of them as soon after my decease but within one year as conveniently may be done. And I hereby empower my said executors to have any inscription or inscriptions cut or engraved on said monument as may to them seem fit and proper.
