Paul was born February 20, 1933 at St. Paul, Nebraska and passed away September 1 1938 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota at the age of five years, six months and twelve days. Read More	Nickie Jay Paul Summoned by Angel of Death Nicholas Jay Paul, III, only son of Mr. and Mrs. N.J. Paul was born February 20, 1933 at St. Paul, Nebraska and passed away September 1 1938 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota at the age of five years, six months and twelve days. He was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church of St. Paul on July 4 1937. At an early age he started attending the Primary Department of the Sunday School of this Church. He enjoyed going and always attended when possible. Nickie became ill and was taken by his mother to Rochester, Minn., May 18. There he submitted to an operation from which he never fully recovered. While in the hospital he endeared himself to all with whom he cam in contact by his loving disposition. He was at all times very brave, loving and kind. His first thought even until the very last was of others. Besides his loving parents and one sister, Jacqueline Jaye, he leaves to mourn his untimely going - his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Abbott of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Nelsen of St. Paul; the following aunts and uncles: Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hunt of Douglas, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Ray D. Arnold of Iowa Falls, Iowa; the Misses Edna, Helen and Lillian Nelsen of St. Paul; Howard E. Nelsen of Chicago, Ill; Donald Nelsen of Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Arterburn of St. Paul, and cousins Max and Helen Lucille Arnold, Carolyn Joan Hunt and Paul Arterburn. Also a host of relatives and friends. The following inscription written by Calvin Coolidge to a friend after the death of his son seems so fitting. "To my friend in recollection of his son and my son who, by the grace of God, have the privilege of being boys throughout Eternity." Services were held at the home on Monday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. W.J. Primrose. Flower girls were Janet Haggart, Maxine Courtney, Georgia Mae Zlomke, Alice Christensen, Julia Mae Rogers and Marion Kotik, in charge of Mrs. Alta Rogers and Miss Ethel Baster. Pall bearers were Edward Bartle, Clayton Zlomke, Donald Day and Jack Bill Pyne. Music, "The Old Rugged Cross," and Have Thine Own Way, Lord," was sung by a male quartet composed of Gordon Jacobson, Donald Rubesh, James Davis and B.V. Keister. They were accompanied by Betty Spikes. Interment was made in the family plot at Elmwood Cemetery.
