Mr. Wullenwaber was one of Seward county's best know and best liked citizens, and his death removes another of the early pioneers from the scene of action. He had attained the age of 77 years, 6 months and 26 days. Mr. Wullenwaber came to Seward county from Minier, Illinois, settling first in the K precinct, where he lived until 1893, when he moved to Seward. In 1886 he was elected to the legislature, serving in the session which convened in January of the following year. He was interested in all enterprises that had to do for the up building of his county and state, and was ever ready to extend a helping hand to one in need. Obituary Nicholas Wullenwaber was born February 20, 1845 in Neuluisendorff, Rhine Province, Germany. He came to America with his parents in April 1858, and settled near Minier, Illinois, where he grew into manhood. On February 7, 1869, he was married to Miss Johannah Schumacher and to this union seven children were born, five daughters and two sons, all of whom are living but one son who died in infancy. F. N. Wullenwaber resides in Seward, Mrs. Sophia Freitag of York, Nebr., Mrs. Mary Brainard of Cheyene Wells, Colorado, Mrs. Augusta Pate of Rockwell City, Iowa, and Mrs. Bertha Collinsworth of Lincoln, Nebr. On February 20, 1877, he moved to Seward County Nebraska, where he resided on a farm nine miles southwest of Seward. On April 1, 1893, he moved to Sward. Mr. Wullenwaber was a good man, loyal and upright to the high ideals of life in which he believed . He endeared himself to all those with whom he came in contact. He will be missed in our community, another one of our best men, one of our pioneers, has gone to his reward. To his neighbors, friends and immediate family has come a great loss. Besides his loving wife, son and daughters he leaves six grandchildren, one brother William of Seward, one sister Mrs. Susan Freitag of Minier, Illinois. His health failed him about six months ago, and he passed away September 16 at 8:15 a.m., at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 26 days. Funeral services were held at the home September 19 at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ralph Pinkham, pastor of the Congregational church. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pate, Rockwell City, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Collinsworth, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Devern Brainard, Cheyene Wells, Colorado; Mrs. Sophie Freitag, York; Hon. Chas. Graff, Bancroft; August Graff, York.
