Jordan, 76, Glasco, were Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Dean Funeral Home, Glasco, with Pastor Phyllis Nungester of the Christian Church officiating. Nile Clifford Jordan, son of Frank and Irma Pitts Jordan, was born Oct. 26, 1910 at Glasco, Kans. He died Oct. 9, 1987, at the Asbury Hospital, Salina, at the age of 76. Nile grew up and attended school in Concordia, where he lived most of his life. On Sept. 15, 1946, he was united in marriage with Mildred M. Whitebread at Concordia. The couple lived in Concordia until 1972, when they moved to Glasco to make their home. Mildred died Nov. 25, 1984. Nile worked as a sales representative for the Quartzite Stone Company for many years, and his work took him all over the State of Kansas until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Glasco Christian Church. Survivors include two nephews, Jordan and Gary Christensen; a niece, Jean Christensen; a cousin, Dewaine Skeels; and four sisters-in-law, Gladys Kimmal, Winona Wright, Mary Jane Cool and Gertrude Whitebread. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Selma Christensen. Vocal music was provided by Diana Mills with Marilyn Harwood as organist. Casket bearers were Richard Peterson, Laurence Cox, Marvin Dunlap, Stanley Harder, Johnnie Jones and Lowell Swenson. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery. Dean Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
