OBIT FROM THE TR " NOAH SPECHT DROPS DEAD WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THIS CITY" Mr. Noah Specht a well known farmer residing eight and half miles north of the city, on the thrid ave. road died suddenly Saturday eveing while on his way home from this city. Mr Specht had been to town with his son. He was apparently in his usual health, after tranacting his business the two started for home, when a short distance this side of the Specht farm Mr. Specht suddenly piched forward and fell dead. Heart disease was probably the cause. Mr Specht was a well- to- do farmer and widely known throughout the the North part of the county. He was a widower, but has several grown children. In George E. Specht's will (Noah's father) it states, "Fourth - I have executed and delivered a deed to my son Noah Specht for 40 acres of land in the state of Iowa for the consideration of $1,200.00 this to be in full for his share in my estate. Noah and his family lived on a farm in Iowa.[ Noah & Rebecca (Vore ) Spect . Brought into thier family 2 foster Children Mary Elnora (King) Lucas & her brother Charles William King . They brought them with them when they moved to Iowa -----Mary was the daughter of Joseph and Isabelle/Iabella Bisbing King. She was orphaned at about age eight, when her mother died and her father disappeared. She and her brother, Charles King, were raised by the Noah Specht family, who moved from Somerset County, Shade Township, PA to Marshall County, Vienna Township, Iowa before 1869. Mary married Riley B Lucas, son of William Caleb and Elizabeth (Betsey)/Mary Elizabeth Birks Lucas. They married in Marshall County, Iowa on 8 July 1869. Riley and Mary had seven children: William Franklin (also buried in this cemetery), Charles Cyrus, Bertha, Roy George, John Benjamin (Ben), Bessie May, and an unknown male child who probably died in early infancy. She may have been born in either Westmoreland County or Somerset County, PA. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters (Hester E and Jane), 1 brother (Charles), 4 foster brothers (Specht's).- Mary Elnora (King) Lucas - In find a grave # 19747887 as for her Brother Charles William King burial unknown . 2nd great grandfather
