He grew up in Staplehurst and Ulysses, attended area schools, was graduated from Seward High School and later lived in York. He was united in marriage, April 15, 1938, to Mable Katherine Vincent. They lived in Lebanon and Mt. Grove, Mo., and Superior. He was employed by York Pack as local manager and hog buyer for many years. Failing health required a move to the Superior Good Samaritan Center, March 21, 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mable, Sept. 18, 1995, and a brother, Lester. He is survived by his children Eugene, Kearney, Larry, Superior, Marvin, Sparta, Tenn., Mrs. Bruce Flack (Geraldine), Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. David Radcliffe (Beverly), Norfolk; a brother, Dean, 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were Thursday from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, with the Rev. Arthur Taylor officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery near Superior.
