Mrs. John Conroy, who had been a resident of Seward for more than a half century, died suddenly at the home here about 6 o'clock Saturday evening. While she had been a sufferer for some time, her death came with scarcely a moment's notice, as she was eating supper when stricken. Mrs. Conroy was born in Ireland more than eighty years ago, and came to America when six years of age. She and her husband settled on a piece of railroad land near Ulysses in the very early days, later removing to Seward. Besides her husband the deceased is survived by three children, Mrs. Matilda McGowen of Ulysses; Will, a Burlington railway conductor stationed at Lincoln, and Ed, who lives in California. Funeral services over the remains were held at the Catholic church in Seward Tuesday forenoon, conducted by Father Loughnot, after which they were taken to Ulysses for burial.
