Description	:	Mass of the Christian burial for Norbert J. Stork, 84, of Carroll, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 27, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Mount Carmel. Mr. Stork died Tuesday evening, March 21, at the Carroll Manor nursing home in Carroll. The Rev. Mr. Stork died Tuesday evening, March 21, at the Carroll Manor nursing home in Carroll. The Rev. Mervin Hood will be celebrant at the Mass. The lector will be William Polking. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 3 and 8 p.m. the latter by Holy Spirit Parish. There will be a scriptural prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday by the Franciscan Sisters. Born Feb. 26, 1905, in Mount Carmel, Mr. Stork was a son of John and Agnes (Bruch) Stork. He spent his younger years in the Mount Carmel area where he attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. He then attended Creighton Prep High School and Creighton University in Omaha. Neb. He graduated from Creighton’s College of Finance and Journalism in 1929. Following his graduation, He worked in the insurance business until he entered the Army and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in May 1943. On Aug. 24, 1943, he was married to Isabell Poeppe at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel by the Rev. Peter M. Sturm. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Mount Carmel and later moved to Carroll. He was then employed in various sales positions and as a postal employee at the Post Office in Carroll. Mr. Stork is survived by one daughter-in-law, Jacqui Stork Poeppe of Roseburg, Ore.; one grandson, Joseph Stork of Roseburg, Ore.; one brother, Erwin Stork and his wife, Colette, of Emmetsburg; and five sisters, Clara (Mrs. Eugene) Schettler of Carroll, Sister Myrne Stork, FSPA, of La Crosse, Wis., Sister Muriel Stork, FSPA, of Las Vegas, Rev. and Annette (Mrs. Clarence) Schapman of Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Isabell, in 1953; a son, Gary, in 1972; a brother, Carl Stork; and a sister, Lenore Wess. (Carroll Daily Times Herald, Carroll, IA, March 23, 1989)
