Norbie graduated from Brunswick High School class of 1947 and he attended the University of Maine at Orono. He was an Army veteran from 1947 to 1950, when he served as a Corporal with occupational forces in Yokohama, Japan. He worked as a lineman for Central Maine Power and after more than 39 years he retired in 1991 as a Field Planner.
