Description	:	Funeral Services for Norma J. Strong, age 76, of O’Neill, NE, will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2020 at Faith Community Church in O’Neill, NE with Pastor Paul Harder officiating. For the safety of the family, it is requested that everyone in attendance wear a mask and abide by social distancing practices for the duration of the service. Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery. Strong was born to Charles and Gladys (Fiscus) Kotrous on June 9, 1944 in Plainview, Nebraska. Norma graduated in 1962 from O’Neill High School, O’Neill, Nebraska. She married Earl H. Strong, Jr. on June 17, 1962 at the United Methodist Church, O’Neill, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union: Debra, Brenda, Steven, and Kevin. Norma worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone; worked as a clerk at Safeway Grocery Store; worked for 14 years in the housekeeping and laundry departments at St. Anthony’s Hospital; was self-employed doing cleaning; and worked as a front desk clerk at Golden Hotel before retiring. Norma loved her family dearly. She enjoyed working with Earl in the hayfield and enjoyed sewing for her children, always making a new outfit for the girls each year for the first day of school. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family events. Norma was a member of Faith Community Church, O’Neill, Nebraska. She had a good sense of humor which showed as she smiled and joked with the staff at Arbor Care Center, O’Neill, Nebraska where she became a resident in September of 2018. Norma is survived by her husband of 58 years, Earl; children: Debra (Dale) Waterman of O’Neill, Brenda (Bob) Milander of Pierce, Steven (Julia) Strong of Lincoln, and Kevin (Angie) Strong of O’Neill; ten grandchildren, Jerod (Alicia) Waterman, Daniel Waterman, Lachel (Aaron) Jung, Casey (Ashley) Milander, Grant Strong, Mimi Strong, McCoy Strong, Jakeb Ernst, Lukes Strong, and Sawyer Strong; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Hunter, Raylan, Isla, Spencer, Hudson, and Lyle; sister, Marilyn (Ray) Lampman of Axtell; brother, Gordon (Joyce) Kotrous of Pierce; and numerousother relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.
