Read More	KOHLER, NORMA JEAN—Norma Jean Hospodsky Kohler was born to Fred and Stella (Rozanek) Hospodsky on November 5, 1926, at Milligan, and passed away January 17, 1995, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 12 days. She was one of three children in the family. Norma grew up in Milligan and attended Milligan Public School, graduating in May of 1944. After graduation, Norma worked as a clerk and secretary at both the Bruning and Fairmont air bases. For a short time, she moved to Chicago, Ill., living with her sister, Irene, and working at a candy store while awaiting the discharge of her fiancé, Al, from the Army. Norma was married to Alvin W. Kohler of rural Milligan on Nov. 28, 1946, and to them three children were born. When they were first married, Al and Norma lived in Crete for a short time before making their home on the family farm northwest of Milligan. They remained on the farm until 1961, when they moved into Geneva. Besides being wife and mother, Norma also worked at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center, then known as the Girl’s Training School, as a cottage parent. After working more than 16 years, Norma retired in 1983. Throughout their marriage of 39 years, Norma and Al enjoyed working side by side on the farm, going to polka dances, and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milligan and Geneva, and later, the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva. She enjoyed many lasting friendships made through school, work and clubs. While on the farm, Norma served as a 4-H leader. She was a 50-plus member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge No. 76 of Milligan and also a member of the Milligan Legion Auxiliary. Norma also enjoyed many lasting friendships made through school, work and clubs. Norma also enjoyed her involvement with TOPS, Mother’s Club and was an active volunteer with the Geneva Senior Center. Norma’s main interest was her family and she thoroughly enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Her greatest happiness was getting together with the whole family at holidays and special events. Norma also enjoyed going to Bingo games with her “Bingo buddies”, crafts, and traveling with friends. Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Robert, who died in childhood; her parents, Fred and Stella; and her husband, Al. She is survived by her sister, Irene (Dee) Butcher; daughter, Judy (Terry) Watt; sons, Robert and wife Karen and Richard and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Mark Watt, Amanda and Chris Kohler; and Sarah and Daniel Kohler; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva on Friday, Jan. 20, with Rev. Wanda Bennett officiating. Nancy Cradduck accompanied Gaylord Cradduck, who sang “Amazing Grace.” Casket bearers were Leonard Becwar, Jay Butcher, Leonard Kassik, Jim F. Kotas, Rod Rozanek and John Vohnout.
