Description	:	Norma Joan Query Frey was born on September 3, 1923, an only child, to Margaret and Frank Query in rural Villisca, Iowa. She attended Villisca schools and graduated from Villisca High School in 1941. She graduated from a business school in Omaha and worked in Omaha until she was united in marriage on January 23, 1943 to Francis L Frey. She and Lt. She... Read More	Norma Joan Query Frey was born on September 3, 1923, an only child, to Margaret and Frank Query in rural Villisca, Iowa. She attended Villisca schools and graduated from Villisca High School in 1941. She graduated from a business school in Omaha and worked in Omaha until she was united in marriage on January 23, 1943 to Francis L Frey. She and Lt. Frey lived in several locations during WWII while Lt. Frey was in the Army Air Corps. The couple farmed on the Frey farm for 45 years. She owned her own greenhouse in Villisca for several years. She was a member and first woman Elder of the Villisca Presbyterian Church, a 4-H leader, she and Francis were Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron of Eastern Star as well as Master Gardner’s through the Iowa State Extension. They were also members of the Circle Eight Square Dance Club. After Francis passed away in 2001, she moved to Clarinda, Iowa. She served as Elder of the Clarinda Westminster Presbyterian Church, a 50 year member of P.E.O., Clarinda Garden Club, the Clarinda History Museum and AARP. She loved to be among people and was always positive in her attitude about life and enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Norma J Frey passed away at her home in Clarinda, Iowa on December 2, 2015 at the age of 92. Norma is survived by her daughter Mary (William) Ching of St. Charles, MO; her son Robert (Wilma) Frey of Leon, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Tom Ching, Carrie Ching Simpson, Joe Frey and Andy Frey; and 9 great grandchildren, Ryan Ching, Justin Ching, Nicholas Simpson, Nathan Simpson, Danny Frey, Brian Frey, Steffan Frey, Nick Frey and Mikayla Frey. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Clarinda. Burial will be in the Villisca Cemetery at Villisca, Iowa. Visitation with the family will take place on Friday evening, December 4, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda. Memorials are suggested to the P.E.O. Scholarship Fund or Westminster Presbyterian Church in Clarinda. Online remembrances or condolences can be shared at www.memoriesonline.com. The Walker-Merrick Funeral Home of Clarinda is in charge of arrangements.
