Description	:	Norma L. MacDonald, 81, of Fullerton died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion. Norma was born March 22, 1930, in Merrick County to Clifford and Crystal (Good) Hawthorne. On June 4, 1949, she married Judson D. "J.D." MacDonald at Fullerton. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1990. Read More	Norma L. MacDonald, 81, of Fullerton died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion. Norma was born March 22, 1930, in Merrick County to Clifford and Crystal (Good) Hawthorne. On June 4, 1949, she married Judson D. "J.D." MacDonald at Fullerton. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1990. Survivors sons and daughter-in-law, Jack MacDonald and Jerry and Staci MacDonald, all of Fullerton; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Mark Zimmerman of Leigh; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Verta Jean Brummett of Arlington, Clara Mae and Les Umstead of Fullerton, Marlys and Maynard Sears of Lincoln; and sister-in-law, Mary Hawthorne of Silver Creek. Norma attended country schools and Fullerton High School graduating in 1947. She taught school in Merrick County for one year. Then she attended Flight Attendant School for two years in Omaha. She worked at the ASCS Office here in Fullerton working as a farm programmer for 33 years. She babysat for Tom and Mary Santin for many years. Norma was a member of the Fullerton United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Share and volunteered at the Fullerton Senior Center. Norma enjoyed, reading gardening particularly raising flowers, walking. Norma was also preceded in death by her parents; and infant sister, Janet Hawthorne. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery, Fullerton, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on August 26, 2011
