Sally Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Yates passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville. Mrs. Yates was born October 1, 1923 in Manchester, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Roy Loren and Ludie Lusk Moore. She loved cooking and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. “She always took care of everybody else.” She was a very active member of her church, Blanton’s Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rufus Vernon Yates, who passed away in 2001. She is survived by two sons, Gary Edward Yates and his wife, Faye of Huntsville, Alabama and John Loren Yates and his wife Lisa of Manchester; one daughter, Verna Sue Green and her husband Jerry of Manchester; one brother, Ken Moore of Lynchburg; three sisters, Edna R. Shelton of Manchester, Iris Morford of Durant, Iowa and Mary A. Moultrie and her husband, Junior of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Karen Broadwell, Dale Green, Leigh Zollinger, Jennifer Yates, Kevin Sherrill, Andrew Yates and Lindsay Ledford; fourteen Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to the Blanton’s Chapel United Methodist Church or Forest Mill Cemetery.
