Norma Scheinost Hamilton was born on October 19, 1922, in Norfolk, NE, to Albie (Dobry) and Tony Scheinost. As a child, Norma lived in Verdigre and Osceola, NE. Her father, Tony, farmed in Osceola. Norma Scheinost Hamilton was born on October 19, 1922, in Norfolk, NE, to Albie (Dobry) and Tony Scheinost. As a child, Norma lived in Verdigre and Osceola, NE. Her father, Tony, farmed in Osceola. In March of 1932, the family moved to North Bend, NE, where her father started a Locker Plant and Grocery Store. Norma was a member of the Methodist Church in North Bend at an early age until the church closed in 2011. At that time, she joined the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend. Norma was a member of various groups; Methodist Church Women's Circle, former member of the Golden Rod Garden Club, member of the Order of Eastern Star in North Bend, member of the Daughters of the Nile (SatRa Temple in Omaha) and Boy Scout leader. In 2016, Norma and her sisters, Eileen Dahlheim and Evie Winkelman, were recognized as having been members for 70 years of the Order of Eastern Star. Norma was a member of many bridge groups over the years which she thoroughly enjoyed. Norma handled the books for Hamilton Oil for many years. Norma and her husband, Paul, spent many winters in Texas where they had a home in Pharr. During her high school years, Norma was a cheerleader and played violin in the high school orchestra in North Bend. Norma graduated from North Bend High School in 1939 at the age of 16 and her class was the first to hold their graduation ceremony in the new City Auditorium. During World War II, Norma worked at the Lockhead Vegas airplane factory in Burbank, CA. She was a "Rosy the Riveter". Norma married classmate, Paul Hamilton in 1949. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Albie and Tony; husband, Paul who passed away August of 2006; brother, Donald Scheinost; sister, Eileen Dahlheim, and grandson, Adam. Norma is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Gerard) Drummond in Portland, OR; Patricia (Lonnie Janssen) Steele in Omaha; sons, Steven (Teri) Hamilton and Thomas (Roz) Hamilton both of North Bend; sister, Evelyn Winkelman; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Memorials have been established to the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend and the North Bend Area Community Foundation. (mosermemorialchapels.com/obituary)
