Norma passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Wisner Care Center. Norma Mary Ann (Kuester) Malchow was born to Louis and Helen (Meyer) Kuester on July 19, 1916 on the Henry Kuester farm south of Wisner, Neb. She was baptized at St. Matthew Lutheran Church south of Wisner on August 13, 1916 by Rev. Gustav Jahn. She was confirmed on March 29, 1931 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wisner by Rev. J.H. Tegler. Norma attended rural school in Stanton County and graduated Wisner High School in 1933. While in High School she boarded with her grandfather Charles Meyer. She took Normal Training and attended summer school at Wayne State Teacher’s College and taught at rural schools for four years-three years at District 4, Cuming County and one year at District 29 in Stanton County. She met Hugo Malchow at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer and they were married on June 12, 1938 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Howells. They farmed for 43-years—in Stanton and Cuming County—and in 1981 retired to live in Wisner. Hugo passed away on January 23, 1988. Throughout her 99-years, Norma had many interests. She enjoyed baking and was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls which she shared with family and friends. Her made-from-scratch chocolate angel food cakes were a hit with the grandchildren on their birthday and each one was personalized. She also quilted, making each of her grandchildren a quilt upon their college graduation. She collected nativity sets of all kinds and displayed them in her home during the Christmas Season. She also was an avid gardener and enjoyed her many flowers. Most of all she valued family gatherings and her high school reunions. Norma was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wisner. She belonged to D.O.R. and LWML, Bible Study, the Fellowship Club and Lutheran's for Life. She taught Sunday school for many years at her prior churches and volunteered for Orphan Grain Train. She was also a member of the Nifty Neighbors Extension Club. Norma is survived by her children and their families: Douglas and wife Gail of Pender, Neb. Daughter - Kay and husband David Raabe and children Jayden and Claire of Wisner, Neb. Daughter - Amy and husband Trevor Topp and children Mason and Ellie of Winside, Neb Daughter - Ann and husband Scott Kraus and children Chase and Evelyn of Strafford, Mo. Daughter - Emily of West Point, Neb. Daughter - Sarah and husband Kyle Blakeman and children Taryn and Burke of Merna, Neb. Constance and husband Dean Ullerich of Omaha, Neb. Daughter - Cara and husband Greg Sealock and children Amanda, Hannah, and Micah of Columbus, Neb. Son - Mark and wife Melissa Ullerich and children Reece and Jace of Humbolt, S.D. Daughter - Lora Ullerich of Omaha, Neb. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hugo in 1988, infant son Roger in 1942, sisters Grace Brodecky and Marcella Wisnieski and brother Robert Kuester."
