Memorials may be directed to the Sheffield United Methodist Church in her memory. Norma May (Timmerman) Rust was born October 5, 1922 in Sheffield a daughter of Henry Otto and Lyla Eleanor (Nolte) Timmerman. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1940 while working as a secretary at the Sheffield Brick and Tile. Memorials may be directed to the Sheffield United Methodist Church in her memory. Norma May (Timmerman) Rust was born October 5, 1922 in Sheffield a daughter of Henry Otto and Lyla Eleanor (Nolte) Timmerman. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1940 while working as a secretary at the Sheffield Brick and Tile. During WWII Norma served as Secretary to the Head of Naval Academy Section, in Alexandria, Virginia. She returned to Sheffield and was united in marriage with Brewster Alan Rust on July 28, 1946 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Sheffield. Norma worked as Librarian at the Sheffield Library for 22 years and served the E.U. B. Church as Sunday School Teacher. When the church closed in 1994 she transferred to First United Methodist Church and served in offices of the UMW. She was a member of the Tri-S Club, PTO, was secretary of the Centennial Committee and the Library Foundation. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and being the best mom and grandmother to ther beloved family. Family members include her daughters: Schelli McCutcheon, Sheffield; Cynthia (Dana) Ditzenberger, Marion; son: Randy (Deborah) Rust, Grimes; 5 grandchildren: Mike (Carol) McCutcheon; Kate (John) Andersen; Brianna Ditzenberger, Alex Ditzenberger and Connor Rust and Shannon and Ryan DeHaan; six great grandchildren: Morgan Lupkes, MacKenzey Conway, Mollie Conway, Ellie McCutcheon, Taylor Andersen and Olivia Andersen. She is preceded in death by her husband Brewster, her parents, daughter Shari Rust-Butterworth.
