Description	:	Norman Allmer, 72, Beulah, died at home on November 6, 2015, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM CST, Monday, November 9, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Beulah with Pastor Aron Utecht officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday. Norman was born to William and Ottillia (Unruh) Allmer in August of 1943 at Beulah's Hillcrest Hospital. He attended school in Beulah, graduating in 1961. Following school, Norman helped pour the concrete foundation of Beulah's new high school building, worked on Interstate 94 and followed in his father's footsteps by working for Knife River Coal Mining Company. He then served in the Army, mainly stationed in Germany, where he met his British wife Catherine Foley. They married in May of 1967. Following his military service, Norman returned to Knife River Coal and worked as a truck oiler and driver for over 39 years. He especially enjoyed fishing, watching local sporting events, and his grandchildren. Norman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Catherine; his four children, David (Cristine), Rochester MN, Deborah (Steve) Dub, Baldwin ND, Derek (Danica), Rapid City SD, and Denise (Mark) Hafner, Beulah; grandchildren, Spencer, Ryan, Josten, Sarah, Victoria, Andrew, Rachel, Dakota, Drew, Tyler, and Thomas; step-grandchildren, Drogos, Kara and Deanna; three brothers, John, Beulah, James (Susan), Bismarck, and Mark (Melizi), Killeen TX. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddaughter, Shaundra. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Sakakawea Home Health and Hospice, Hazen. Arrangements conducted by Barbot funeral home, Beulah and Hazen.
