Description	:	Norman Asias Bucy was born in Champaign County on December 24, 1871, and died in Alden September 16, 1928, being in his 57th year. He was the son of Asias and Eliza Bucy, who came to Iowa in an immigrant wagon in 1876 and settled on a piece of land in Hardin County, located about two and a half miles north at Hubbard. Read More	Norman Asias Bucy was born in Champaign County on December 24, 1871, and died in Alden September 16, 1928, being in his 57th year. He was the son of Asias and Eliza Bucy, who came to Iowa in an immigrant wagon in 1876 and settled on a piece of land in Hardin County, located about two and a half miles north at Hubbard. The rest of his life has been spent in the county and in Alden for the last 33 years. In his early manhood he was united in marriage to Nettie Lorene Carson who preceded him in death during the first year of their life together. In 1898 he was again united in marriage to Lottie Blase, who survives him and lives to mourn his loss. He was a son of typical pioneer settlers, who with their family wrestled heroically with the severe climatic conditions and the virgin soil to earn a living and pave the way for the richness of this greatly developed state. Other members of the family who survive him are George Bucy of Maxwell, New Mexico, Lemuel Bucy of Bellaire, Michigan, Olive Bucy and Mrs. Alice Hawkins of Lamanda Park, California, Frank Bucy, Seattle, Washington, Charles Bucy of Laurens, Iowa, Mrs. Cora Robinson of Estherville, Iowa. Angelina Waud of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jess Bucy of Milbank, South Dakota, only a short time ago preceded him in death. "There are hermit souls that live withdrawn In the place of their self content, There are souls like stars, that dwell apart In a fellowless firmament. There are pioneer souls that blaze their paths Where highways never run, But let me live by the side of the road And be a friend to man." Funeral services were held at the family home Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Pickersgill officiating, assisted by Rev. Fellar of Dows, who officiated at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Bucy. The following from out of town were present at the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Bucy and son, Howard, of Laurens; Mr. and Mrs. Ike Bucy of Hubbard: Ed and Claire Carson of Armstrong; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bolden and Mrs. Borchadt of Dows; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyers of Popejoy. Mr. Bucy was a good neighbor and friend, and painstaking in all that he did. His illness was of short duration, (only four days) and few knew of it until they learned of his death. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.
