Description	:	Norman Kisling, 77, of Stockport, Iowa, passed away on October 23, 2020, at his home. He was born on December 31, 1942, to Boyd and Marie Brown Kisling at their home in Stockport. Norman graduated from Stockport High School in 1961. married Jane Havener on December 31, 1963, in Fairfield. Read More	Norman Kisling, 77, of Stockport, Iowa, passed away on October 23, 2020, at his home. He was born on December 31, 1942, to Boyd and Marie Brown Kisling at their home in Stockport. Norman graduated from Stockport High School in 1961. married Jane Havener on December 31, 1963, in Fairfield. Together Norman and Jane raised two children, Michael and Teresa, on their family farm south of Stockport. Jane preceded him in death on December 25, 2016. Norman was a farmer, contractor, and heavy equipment operator. He was strongly committed to soil conservation and was known as a good steward of the land. In the evenings, Norman could be found touring through the country to check the condition of the fields and visit with some of his many friends. “Stormin “Norman could hold a conversation with anyone, and once he knew you, he considered you a friend for life. He loved baseball and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and he had fun razzing his friends at the Mt. Hamill Tap about the Cardinals. Two winters provided him with the opportunity to go to Arizona and work as a parking attendant at spring training for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres in exchange for unlimited access to watch as much baseball as possible. During his stays in Arizona, Norm also enjoyed spending time with his sister, Rita, and her husband, Hugh, who always made sure to frequent the Wild Horse West Saloon to eat and relax. Immediately after high school, Norman went to Chicago, worked for Braniff Airlines, and watched the Cubbies from the rooftop bleachers across from Wrigley Field. Perhaps as a result of his time with the airlines, Norman became a licensed airplane pilot and owned three different planes in his lifetime, his last one being an Aeronica Champ that he fondly referred to as the Puddle Jumper; he continued to fly until his age prevented him from doing so any longer. Norman enjoyed golfing and bowling in his younger years and served seven years in the National Guard and Reserves in the 1960s. He was a former member of the Elks Club, Stockport Lions Club, and supported many charitable associations. He is survived by a son, Mike (Kim) Kisling; a daughter, Teresa (Nate) Adkins; and five grandsons, Zachery (Tonya), Corbin, and Colton Kisling, Mitchell Norman and Thomas Adkins, all of Stockport, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Isis, Zane, and Kade; a sister, Rita (Hugh) McCoy of Peoria, Arizona; a brother, Randy (Karen) Kisling of Keosauqua, Iowa; sister-in-law, Karen Kisling of Pella, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; his parents, Boyd and Marie; a sister, Janet Lawson, a brother, Donald Kisling, and a niece, Abby Kisling. Norman’s body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Norman’s honor will be used for ongoing improvements to the Ferguson Sports Complex in Keosauqua or may be made to the Stockport Christian Church and can be mailed to 26193 Hwy 16, Stockport, Iowa 52651.
