Description	:	NORMAN L. COOK - Sunday - September 27, 1992 CHELAN _ Norman L. Cook, 72, a longtime Chelan resident, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1992, at home following an extended illness. He was born Sept. 23, 1920 to Rudolph and Willie Mae (Henderson) Cook at Elmore City, Okla., where he spent his early years. He graduated from Pernell High School at Pernell, Okla. Mr. Cook moved in 1941 with his family to the Chelan area. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942. He was born Sept. 23, 1920 to Rudolph and Willie Mae (Henderson) Cook at Elmore City, Okla., where he spent his early years. He graduated from Pernell High School at Pernell, Okla. Mr. Cook moved in 1941 with his family to the Chelan area. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in the European Theater during World War II and received a commendation for heroic achievement on the battlefield. He married Katherine Olinger on Sept. 9, 1945, at Chelan, after his discharge from the service. He worked for the city of Chelan as a plant operator until he retired in 1982. He was a member of the Chelan United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 6853, American Legion Post No. 108, and a member and past president of the Chelan Eagles No. 2218. Survivors include his wife, at home; two sons, Richard and Robert, both of Chelan; a daughter, Carolyn Engstrom of Buckley; a sister, Nola Joyner of Chelan; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a brother. Arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel at Chelan.
