He had been crippled with arthritis for many years and had been a patient in the hosptial for one year and seven months. Read More	Norman Willis Rafuse At a very early hour on Wednesday morning, October 18th, Norman Willis Rafuse passed quietly from this life at the hospital in Dayspring. He had been crippled with arthritis for many years and had been a patient in the hosptial for one year and seven months. His death, however, came as a shock as it was not known by the immediate members of his family that he was critically ill until a few days before he died. He was born at Parkdale (then Foster's Settlement) eighty-four years ago and was the last surviving member of the family of Jezivel and Ellen (Boutilier) Rafuse. His parents, five brothers and six sisters predeceased him. He was married in 1908 to Bertha Alice Sarty of Scarsdale who departed this life in the early hours of January 1st 1951. He is survived by three of their four children, two daughters, Bernice (Mrs. Charles Zwicker) of Scarsdale; Audrey (Mrs. John Patterson) of Welton's Corner and one son, Leslie of Dalhousie. The oldest son, Cedric was killed in a plane crash in Nassau, B.W.I. in September, 1943. He had ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There are also a large number of his cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S.A. Funeral service was held at the Baptist church in Parkdale on Friday afternoon at two o'clock of which he was a member with burial in the Parkdale cemetery beside his wife. The service was conducted by the pastor of the church, Rev. Walter Killam. (hand written on obituary - 1961) RR
