Deputy Sheriff Roy S. Beckwith of Skowhegan also investigated. Remains were taken to the Donald H. Shorey funeral home in Pittsfield tonight. He was born in Hartland, son of Albert and the late Elsie (Brooks) Deering. He had lived there all his life with the exception of time spent in the armed services during World War Two. He served in the European theater as a supply sergeant. Mr. Deering is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie (Noble) Deering; two adopted daughters, Sandra and Susan; one sister, Mrs. Inez Hart of North Hartland; three brothers, Carleton and Albert Deering of Hartland and Kenneth Deering of Dover-Foxcroft; and several nieces and nephews.
