Description	:	KEARNEY — Novella Mae (Kauk) Giddings, 55, of Kearney died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at her home at Brandts Lakewood near Kearney. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon before the memorial service. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements. Novella was born on June 18, 1960, in Los Angeles to William Edward “Ed” and Valerie (Ramones) Kauk. The family moved to Alma and later to Rapid City, S.D., where Novella graduated from high school. Novella moved to Minden in 1993 and worked as a waitress at Shay’s and at Pioneer Village. Later she was a typist at Morris Press in Kearney. On Feb. 6, 2003, she married Woody Giddings in Hawaii, and they lived in Kearney. Novella enjoyed needlework, crafts, plants, boating, scuba diving, motorcycles and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Woody of Kearney; mother, Valerie Kauk of Minden; stepdaughter, Terri Giddings of Kearney; stepson, Woody Giddings Jr. and his wife, Jeannie, of Gibbon; and stepgrandchildren, Lexi and Logan Giddings. She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Kauk.
