Description	:	O. D. Brokaw, son of George and Ethel Brokaw was born May 1, 1881 and died at the Lutheran hospital at Creighton on August 24, 1955 at the age of 74 years 3 months and 2 days. He spent his childhood on the farm West of Plainview. When a young man, he started farming Northwest of Plainview. He was then united in marriage to Emma Schlote on December 7, 1904. He continued farming until his health failed about a year ago, then he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Mae Christiansen. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Mae Christiansen, Creighton, Mrs. Ruth Jensen, Higginsville, Missouri, Carl Brokaw, Battle Creek, Mrs. Velva Offenberger, Sedalia, Missouri and Orin Brokaw, Delmar, Iowa, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Gertrude Wegman, Page, and Mrs. Dora Jensen, Neligh and Clarence Brokaw, Plainview. He had 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were; Vernon Christiansen, Norman Christiansen. Donald. Christiansen, Ernest Christiansen, Wesley Nelson and .Jim Rector. The grandchildren are donating money for the cancer fund and friends gave money that will also be put on the cancer fund in memory of him. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Plainview August 26.
